Services for Jim Whitehead will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019, at 1 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel. Burial will follow in Sandtown Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 11 a.m. until service time at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Whitehead, 82, of Philadelphia died Thursday, January 10, 2019. He was a native of Neshoba County and longtime resident of the Sandtown Community. He served in The United States Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired Insurance Agent . He owned and operated Whitehead Insurance Agency in Neshoba County. Mr. Whitehead was active in Grace Baptist and First Baptist Church of Philadelphia. He was a deacon, Gideon and ardent supporter of the Mississippi Right to life organization. He was active in Neshoba County Jail ministries. Survivors include daughter, Sonja Whitehead; stepchildren, Michael Wells, Danny Luke, Jeff Luke, Sondra Fairchild and Sheila Burnett; brothers, Doice (Sarah) Whitehead, and Douglas (Ruth) Whitehead; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and their families. Mr. Whitehead was preceded in death by two infant sons and one infant daughter; parents, William Sherman and Claudie Dell Whitehead; brothers, Harold J. Boswell, Bennie Whitehead, and Gerald Whitehead; sisters, Opal Whitehead Mobley, Margie Whitehead Lewis, and Bonnie Boswell Clark; special friend, Sarah Wells. Pallbearers are Tyler Tingle, Trevor Wells, Dylan Lashley, Jerry Whitehead, Ronald Clark, Ronnie Clark, Richard Clark and Tim Whitehead.
