Earl Jackson

  Services for Earl Jackson will be held Thursday, May 9, 2019, at 11 a. m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Veronica Pritchard officiating.  Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery of Neshoba County.  Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2019, from 5 until 8 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Mr. Jackson, 72, of Laurel Hill, died Thursday, May 2, 2019, at his home. He was a native of the Laurel Hill Community in Neshoba County and a graduate of Edinburg High School.  He joined the U. S. Army shortly after high school, and after serving he worked for Delta Airlines in New Orleans, where he met his wife of 45 years.  He graduated from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK, where he was a charter member of Acacia fraternity.  After graduation they moved to Norco, LA, and he began his career as an Industrial General Contractor.  He retired from his construction career in 2001, and moved back to Laurel Hill.  He then became owner of Edinburg One Stop until 2016.  He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his children, grandchildren, family and friends.  Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Timmie Jackson of Laurel Hill; three daughters, Lauren (Rob) Lee, Diana Jackson and Katherine (Johnny) Gorny, all of Destrehan, LA; five grandchildren, Dominic Lee, Felix Lee, August Earl Jackson-O’Keeffe, Josslyn Gorny and Jamison Gorny; sisters, Hope Schulz of Philadelphia and Anita (Bo) Lossiah of Cherokee, NC; and a host of aunts,  uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his son, Earl Jackson III; and parents, Elizabeth and Oscar Welch. Special thanks are given to Quality Hospice Care for the tireless, professional and compassionate care, and the love shown to us from so many of our dear friends.
