Services for Wilmer Ray Goforth will be held Thursday, December 19, 2019, at 2:30 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Dr. Dan Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Goforth, 91, of Philadelphia, died Monday, December 16, 2019, at Beehive Homes of Philadelphia. He was a native and longtime resident of Neshoba County. He retired in 1989 after 40 years from AT&T (South Central Bell). Mr. Goforth was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church in Philadelphia. He was a former member of Lions Club. Survivors include wife, Mazell Goforth of Philadelphia; daughter, Melisa Lewis (Bernard) of Philadelphia; two grandchildren, Nikki Walton (Rodney), Josh Lewis (Lindsay), both of Philadelphia; four great-grandchildren, Rayleigh, Maddie, Rhett, and Hayes; sister, Delores Savell of Little Rock; brothers, Junior Goforth and Jerry Goforth, both of Meridian; numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Mr. Goforth was preceded in death by parents, Gus and Rennie Goforth; sister, Marjorie Russell; and brothers, Wilfred Goforth and Willis Goforth. Pallbearers are Josh Lewis, Rodney Walton, Herman Russell, Burlon Russell, Jeremiah Russell, and Kenneth Moore. Honorary pallbearer is Rhett Lewis.
