William E. Walker Jr.

Graveside services for William E. “Bill” Walker, Jr., will be held Saturday, July 25, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. from East Lawn Cemetery in Philadelphia with Bro. David Richardson officiating. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Walker, 66, of Walnut Grove, died Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Born and raised in Houston, MS, he graduated high school as salutatorian of Chickasaw Academy in 1971; and was a 1977 graduate of MSU with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He owned Walker & Associates in Philadelphia, MS. Bill loved all LSU sports and enjoyed working on his Black Walnut Tree Farm. He dearly loved his three grandchildren. Bill was of the Christian faith. Survivors include daughters, Meredith Young (Stewart) of Conway, AR, and Morgan Wirt (David) of Brandon, MS; son, Will Walker of Brandon, MS; grandchildren, Leland Wirt, Sloane Wirt, and Cruz Young; sister, Anita Easom of Philadelphia; brother, Barry Walker (Joy) of Philadelphia. Mr. Walker was preceded in death by mother, Marilyn Weatherford; father, William E. Walker, Sr.; and brother-in-law, Charles Easom. Pallbearers are David Wirt, Gale Noel, Walker Noel, Keith Thomas, Barry Brooks, and Barry Walker.
