Curt Pace officiating along with Masonic Rights. Interment will be in the Wilcher Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at McClain-Hays. Mr. Clair, 78, of Philadelphia died Sunday, July 7, 2024. Dewayne was born and raised in Neshoba County and attended Philadelphia Schools. He was employed at U.S. Motors for 30 years until his retirement. He owned and operated Clair’s Grocery in Laurel Hill for a number of years, also drove a bus for several years for Leake County Schools. He ran horses in harness races all over the United States, was an auctioneer and also coached boy’s baseball and girl’s softball at Northside Park. He dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren and loved going to auctions and garage sales and was an avid fair goer and loved hanging out at the barns. Mr. Clair was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Philadelphia. Survivors include daughter, Tonya Fortune (Chris) of Philadelphia; son, Tim Clair of Philadelphia; step-mother, Louise Clair; mother-in-law, Lucille Wilcher; grandchildren, Nicole White (Wayne), Ashley Netterville (Trey), Amanda Fortune Winstead (Tyler), Anna Clair Gentry (Coty), Zachary Fortune, Alexis and Aubree Clair; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Cutler and Darby White, Charleigh Clair and Bryar Gentry, Lillian Netterville and JonRoss Winstead; several nieces, nephews and their families; sister, Lisa Howell (Charlie); brothers, Edwin Clair (Sam), Danny and Richard Clair. Mr. Clair was preceded in death his by wife, Sandra Clair; son, Billy Clair; parents, Edwin Clair and Iva Bell Singleton; grandparents, Buck & Eunice Singleton; sisters, Gloria Hodge and Patricia Collins; brothers, Joe Clyde and Bill Singleton. Pallbearers, Curtis Fancher, Dewey Johnson, Randy Wilcher, Ray Williamson, D.D. Rushing, Ricky Tucker and Lee Winstead.
