Services for William “Bill” Culpepper will be held Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at 1 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Dr. Dan Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarlawn Cemetery with Masonic rites. Visitation will be held from 11 a. m. until time of service at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Mr. Culpepper, 88, of Philadelphia, died Monday, October 29, 2018, at Bee Hive Home of Philadelphia. He was a native of Lauderdale County and a resident of Philadelphia, MS, for the past 60 years. He retired from Delco-Remy of Meridian, MS, formerly worked for Viking (Spector) Truck Lines in Philadelphia, and worked off-shore for several years. He was also employed with Molpus Lumber Company, and worked as a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Culpepper was a member of First Baptist Church in Philadelphia, MS; and was a longtime member of E. J. Knox-King Solomon Masonic Lodge #130 in Toomsuba, MS. Survivors include son, Don Culpepper (Tonya) of Philadelphia, MS; grandchildren, Lacey Stribling (Kyle) of Oxford, MS, Ty Culpepper (Mary Rollins) of Tupelo, MS; great-grandchildren, Kate Alan Culpepper, Anna Tyler Culpepper, and John Townes Stribling. Mr. Culpepper was preceded in death by his wife, Arnell; parents, Leon and Vera Culpepper; and sister, Flora Bell Troutman. In lieu of flowers family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Children’s Ministries/Wee Care. The family would like to thank the Beehive Homes assisted living for taking such good care of their loved one.
