Services for Wayne Pike will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at 1 p. m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Tommy Miles and Rev. Danny Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery in Philadelphia. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2019, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Pike, 72, of Philadelphia, died Sunday, April 7, 2019, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. He was a native and longtime resident of Frog Level Road in Philadelphia, MS. He retired as a Tool & Die Maker from U. S. Motors in Philadelphia. Mr. Pike was a member and deacon of New Pleasantdale Baptist Church in Williamsville. He served in the U. S. Army during Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of the VFW-Philadelphia. He was a farmer and beekeeper. Survivors include his wife, Marie Pike of Philadelphia; daughter, Tommie Kaye Carpenter (Brian) of Carthage; sons, Dewayne Pike (Mitzi) of Union; Sammy Pike (Amie) of Philadelphia; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Judy Travis of Jackson, Charlotte Boyd of Birmingham, AL; Kathy Kittrell and Linda Wilcher of Philadelphia, Betty Land of Durant; brothers, Charles Pike of Clinton; Rex Pike, Mike Pike, Bill Pike, Jerry Pike and Luke Pike, all of Philadelphia; several nieces, nephews and their families. Mr. Pike was preceded in death by parents, Croque and Mabel Pike; brothers, Bobby and Johnny Pike.
