Wayne Copeland

Services for Wayne Copeland will be held Friday, January 11, 2019, at 11 a. m. from Coye Assembly of God Church in Preston with Rev. Ryan Farmer, Rev. Achan Dufrene and Rev. Allen “Bubba” Eaves officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held Thursday, January 10, 2019, from 5 until 8 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home and one hour prior to service at the church.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Mr. Copeland, 76, of Preston, died Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian. He was a native and lifelong resident of Preston Community of Kemper County and owned and operated Copeland Line Service until his retirement.  He loved hunting, fishing and going to ballgames. Mr. Copeland attended Coye Assembly of God in Preston. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Copeland; sons, Joey (Michelle) Copeland, Marty (Swanna) Copeland and Stan (Danielle) Copeland, all of Preston; five grandchildren, Shelly (Stewart) Sanford, Ethan (Erin) Copeland, Lindsey Mae Copeland, Dillon (Sarah) Copeland and Chamber Lee Floyd Copeland; five great-grandchildren, Josie Sanford, MaeLeigh Rae Sanford, Jaxon Wayne Copeland, Carson Copeland and Colton Copeland; brother, Danny (Mary Jane) Copeland of Philadelphia; and special extended family, Susan “Maw” McDonald of Preston. Mr. Copeland was preceded in death by parents, Will and Thelma Luke Copeland; one sister, Brenda McLauchlin; and two brothers, Jimmy Copeland and Jerome Copeland.
