Vonita Jayroe Myers

Services for Nita Myers will be held Monday, June 17, 2019, at 11 a. m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Dr. Mike Carr and Dr. Wayne Hill officiating.  Burial will follow in Cedarlawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service at McClain-Hays Funeral Home.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Myers, 89, of Philadelphia, died Sunday, June 9, 2019. A native and longtime resident of Neshoba County, she graduated from House High School in 1948.  She was a homemaker for most of her life and was cherished by her late husband of 63 years, James “Nuggie” Myers.  Mrs. Myers was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.  Survivors include daughter, Vicki Myers Snider (Mike) of Meridian, MS; sons, Ron Myers (Debbie) of Rock Hill SC, Greg Myers of Pensacola, FL; six grandchildren, Trisha Myers Shand (Steve), Dave Myers (Sarah), Jason Myers (Jonni), Jonathan Myers, Josh Snider (Kim), Drew Snider; seven great-grandchildren, Annie Davis Myers, Darsey Jane Myers, Avery Claire Myers, Annisten Reece Snider, Adalyn Paige Snider, Beckett Reid Snider and Austyn Brynn Snider; sisters, Faye Jayroe Sullivan of Lafayette, LA, and Mary Jayroe Nicholson (Dewayne) of Philadelphia, MS; brothers, Walker “Bud” Jayroe of Picayune, MS, Aaron Jayroe of Philadelphia;  and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by her husband, James “Nuggie” Myers; parents, Willie and Zexa Jayroe; sisters, Rose Jayroe Grantham, Brenda Jayroe Brown, Carolyn Jayroe Bates and brother-in-law, W. J. Bates; sister-in-law, June Falgout Jayroe. Pallbearers are Dave Myers, Jason Myers, Jonathan Myers, Josh Snider, Drew Snider and Chris Webb.
