Funeral services for Voncille Parker will be held Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 11 a.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Dr. Mike Carr, Dr. Wayne Hill and Bro. Justin Craft officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Mrs. Parker, 87, of Philadelphia, died Sunday, November 13, 2022. She was a native of Madden Community of Leake County and a longtime resident of Philadelphia. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, all games, cooking and spending time with family. Mrs. Parker was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara McRae (J.D.) of Canyon Lake, Texas; son, David Parker (Cindy) of Philadelphia; son-in-law, David Greene of Florida; daughter-in-law, Patsy Parker of Brookhaven; grandchildren, Ryan Parker, Olivia Watts, Jake McRae, Miles McRae, Chance Parker and Jordan Parker; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Jane Boatner, Margie Owens and Shirley Warren; brothers, Johnny, Jerry, Jim, Billy and Bob Thomas; numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Parker; son, George O. Parker; daughters, Judy Samples and Susan Greene; brothers, Charles and Doyce Thomas. Pallbearers are, David Greene, Chance Parker, Jordan Parker, Ryan Parker, Josh Watts and Mike Robertson.
