Tommy Lee Dearing

Funeral services for Tommy Lee Dearing will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 2 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel.  Rev. Tim Vowell will officiate. Interment will follow in Bethsaida Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at McClain-Hays.

Mr. Dearing, 77, of Philadelphia, MS died Sunday, February 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Tommy Dearing, born on October 16, 1947, to Auston and Annie Dearing, led a life of purpose and connection. He graduated from Neshoba Central High School, East Central Community College, and earned his Master’s Degree from Mississippi State University. Throughout his career in accounting, healthcare administration, and public school administration, Tommy demonstrated a strong commitment to serving his community and making a positive impact. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and he took pride in working on the family farm.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Kate; his daughter, Tanya (Charlie) Mosher; his son, Michael (Alix) Dearing; and his grandchildren, Hunter (Hannah) Weatherford, Lorelei, and Zachary Dearing, as well as his great-grandson, Stetson Weatherford. Additionally, he is survived by six siblings, four sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and a large extended family of nieces and nephews who will carry forward his legacy of love.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, James. His spirit of kindness, wisdom, and support will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Pallbearers are: Hunter Weatherford, Jonathan Dearing, Paul Dearing, Bunkie Smith, Jimmy Buchanan, Kenny Pierce, Tyler Pierce and Michael Thomas.
