Funeral services for Terry Chitwood will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Interment will be at New Harmony Cemetery. Rev. Wayne Tate and Rev. Toby Stovall will officiate. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. on Monday, January 8, 2024. Mr. Chitwood, 73, of Zama Community died Friday, January 5, 2024. Mr. Terry was a native of Zama Community of Atalla County. He was a resident of Neshoba County for 50 years. He Graduated from Ethel High School in 1970, after which he attended Holmes Community College and then went on to Mississippi State University and graduated in 1974 with his BS Degree. He taught at public school for a short period of time before starting with Weyerhaeuser where he worked for 38 years until he retired in 2013. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, taking care of his animals and especially spending time with his family and friends at the Neshoba County Fair. He was a member of the Dixon Baptist Church in Neshoba County. Survivors include his son, Greg Chitwood (Liza) of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Justin Marcangeli, Jacob Marcangeli, Avia Bond (Todd); great-grandchildren, Jessie Bond, Jasper Bond, Chloe Bond; sister, Emma Jean Todd (Rayford) of Kosciusko; sister-in-law, Patsy Gilmer ( Joel Durant) of Philadelphia; brother, Jerry Lyle Chitwood of Kosciusko; brother-in-law, Glen Sims of Kosciusko; several nieces and nephews; and a special cousin Scotty Fleming of Philadelphia. Mr. Chitwood was preceded in death by wife, Barbara Sims Chitwood; Parents, Edward Lyle and Annie Louise Chitwood; sister, Judy Faye Chitwood
