Graveside services for Sylvia Ann Duett will be held Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 2 p.m. from Hester (Smith Chapel) Cemetery in Neshoba County with Dr. Dan Howard officiating. McClain-Hays is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Duett, 86 of Neshoba County died Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Neshoba County Nursing Home. Sylvia Ann Duett was born to Frank Ernest and Genora “Nora” Chisolm on August 14, 1934 in Neshoba County and was a graduate of Noxapater High school. She worked as an operator for South Central Bell and as a switchboard operator for MS Baptist Medical Center for many years. She lived most of her adult life in Jackson, MS and moved to Vicksburg, MS where she was a member of Bowmar Avenue Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughters, Melissa Bordelon of Vicksburg, MS and Michele Bell of Philadelphia, MS; sister, Weymouth (Steve) Tarver of Terry, MS; grandchildren, Amanda (Kasey) Bordelon of Baton Rouge, LA, Keith (Jennifer) Bell, Joseph (Thangi) Bell and Lanisha Bell all of Philadelphia, MS; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren all of Philadelphia; many nieces, nephews and their families. Mrs. Duett was preceded in death by her husbands, Joe Watson and Jerry Duett; parents, step-father, Jim Farish Price; brothers, William Frank, Kenneth Wilbur, Charles Malcolm and Walter Darrell Chisolm. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions may be made to St Jude’s or the charity of your choice.
