She lived at Deemer before moving inside the Philadelphia city limits enabling her to attend and graduate from the city schools. As a teen she worked at one of the city’s drugstores that had those grand soda fountains. Thereafter, she was in sales at the Busby’s Gift Shop until it closed its doors. Sybil aided many upcoming brides in choosing their china, crystal, and flatware. Once Mr. Busby closed the shop, Sybil traveled to Meridian to work for several years. While there, she was coming home to bake. Her cakes were in such demand and due to these many requests, she left her job to fill the plethora of orders. She was so widely known for her expertise that she was delivering cakes all over Mississippi and even shipping them to other states. She loved and served many years at First Methodist. Preceded in death were her parents John Wade and Alma Huizenga; grandson Hank Jackson; brother Malcolm Wade; husbands Linzy Jackson and “Tex” James. Survivors include son Mack Jackson (Pam); grandchild David Jackson; great grands: Adrienne Bryan; Dekota Sciple (Daniel); Angel Killen (Ashton); and Cassie Jackson. Also, there are seven great, great grandchildren; one sister Polly Andersen, Lincoln, Nebraska, and Sybil’s special cousin Sylvia Shackelford Fleming. Memorials may be made to Gideons International.
