Summer Embry

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Bro. Mike Sullivan officiating. Interment will follow in the Coye Assembly Cemetery in Kemper County. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at McClain-Hays. Ms. Embry passed away at her home in Pinola, MS. on August 20, 2024. Summer was born in Hinds County, MS., but grew up in the Neshoba County area. She was a 2014 graduate of Union High School and later obtained an associates degree in nursing from Hinds Community College. She had been employed as a LPN in various nursing positions the last several years. Summer loved boating, swimming, doing hair and make up. She was a social butterfly. But, her greatest joy was spending time with her children. Member of First Baptist Church of Union. Summer loved her family and would do anything to help them. She will be surely missed by her many friends and family. Summer is survived by her children Karter Brown and Marley Spears. mothers; Jennifer Petty and Mary James (Joey) Union, MS. fathers; biological father; Tim Rogers, Columbia, MS. and adopted father; Joey James (Mary) Union, MS. partner; Cody Powell, Pinola, MS. sisters; Wendi Rogers, Windie Speed, Brittany Merrill, Amber Rogers and Brooke Rogers. brothers; Grady Embry, Kenny Embry, Billy Embry and Andrew Rogers. aunt; Traci Walker, Union, MS. and uncle Scotty Petty (April) Union, Ms. grandmothers; Charlotte Petty and Nellie Rogers. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and their families and her many, many friends. Summer is preceded in death by her grandfathers; Edward Petty and Roy Rogers and a special cousin Koda Blaze Page. Pallbearers will be Ty Nichols, Cody Burton, William Jenkins, Scotty Petty, Josh Warren, Kenny Walker, Casey Warren and Ethan Walker.
