Funeral services for Steve Snuggs will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at 12:00 noon from McClain-Hays Chapel with Bro. Bryan Madison and Bro. Matthew Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Lauderdale County. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 7, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Snuggs, 69, of Philadelphia, died Saturday, December 4, 2021, at his home. Born in Leake County, MS, he lived in Neshoba County for 47 years. He attended Madden schools where he was known by his nickname, “Muggsy” and also known for his many pranks at school, including riding his motorcycle down the hall. Recently retired after employment with Central Electric for 44 years, he still ran across customers of Central Electric he considered friends. Mr. Snuggs was a member of Philadelphia Church of God where he was a member of the Pastor’s Council, and also played bass for the church worship team. He was a devout Christian. He enjoyed shopping for deals in pawn shops and going to the Smoky Mountains. He was a good provider, loving husband, father, and grandfather; and will be greatly missed. Survivors include wife, Wanda Snuggs; daughter, Amy Stuart (Brad); son, Steven Snuggs; grandchildren, Laney Snuggs, Caden Stuart, and John Brady Stuart, all of Philadelphia; mother, Jean Snuggs of Leake County; brother, Stan Snuggs (Renee) of Leake County; and niece, MacKenzie Reves (Ryan) of Vicksburg. Preceding Mr. Snuggs in death was his father, Robert “Rob” Snuggs.
