Funeral services for Richard “Spencer” Harvey will be held Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 2 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Tim Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 1, 2024 for 11 a.m. until service time at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Mr. Harvey, 31, of the Good Hope Community, died Saturday, January 27, 2024. Spencer was a native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County. He attended Neshoba Central Schools. Spencer had an infectious smile and never met a stranger. He was affectionately known as “Little Red” and his hobbies were hunting and fishing. Although, Spencer never married or fathered children of his own, he loved his nephew and nieces so very much. Survivors include his mother, Melody Smith Jones of Philadelphia; father, Billy Harvey of Meridian; sister Evie Harvey Pullin of Philadelphia; grandmother, Eva Jean Smith of Philadelphia; step-grandmother, Wyvette Harvey; nephew, Grady Pullin; nieces, Delilah Crocker, Eva, Ridley and Lidia Pullin; uncle, Dwight Smith; aunts, Debbie Jolly (Eddie) all of Philadelphia, Judy Harvey (Joey) of Silver Creek; and several other aunts, uncles, cousins and their families. Mr. Harvey was preceded in death by grandparents, Richard Smith, J.D. Harvey and Genevieve Harvey; aunts, Carla Calcote and Jan Smith; uncle, Mike Smith. Pallbearers, Hunter Smith, Michael Smith, Jon Willis Clay, Cody Kilgore, Randy Watkins, Donnie Chunn, Dylan Lea and Dale Mullins.
