Shirley Popchoke

Graveside Service will be held on Thursday August 31, 2023 at 11:00 am from Cedarlawn Cemetery with Bro. David Callahan officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday August 30, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 pm at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Shirley was born November 9, 1949 in Muskogee, Oklahoma the daughter of the late Dentis Brown Jr. and Ruby Jane McAllister Brown. She worked as an administrative assistant for the State of Mississippi for several years before retiring. In her younger years she enjoyed backgammon, tennis and golf. Most recently she enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She was Methodist by faith. Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law Lisa & Darren Callahan of Villa Rica Ga., Jennifer Popchoke and companion Rob Kittle of Temple Ga., brother Jimmy Brown of Muskogee, Ok., two grandchildren and one great grandchild. Shirley is also survived by a sister-in-law, two nieces and three great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Dale Popchoke and grandson James Mason Ely. Honorary Pallbearers will be Roy White, Mike Simpson, Lance Wyche, Mike Ford, Robert Tolbert and Mike Hardy.
