Shirley Mckee

Graveside Services for Mrs. Shirley McKee will be held on Monday June 22, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. from East Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Mark Cloys officiating. McClain-Hays is in charge of arrangements. Shirley Jean Pilgrim McKee joined her husband, Willis, in Heaven for their anniversary on June 18th, 2020. She is survived by her children, Tabitha McKee Winstead (Robert) of Philadelphia, MS, Alesia McKee Hays (Doyle) of Jackson, MS, and Willis Ray McKee of Austin, TX; five grandchildren, Leigh Pilgrim (Josh), Ashley Allen (Andy), Annalise Hays, Austin Winstead (Sarah) and Lauren Winstead; and one great-grandchild, Conner Robertson. Shirley was an icon of the community, known for her compassion and love. Alongside Willis, she fought for civil rights using their businesses to open up opportunities for people of all backgrounds. She was a member of East Philadelphia Baptist Church where she served her Lord Jesus playing the organ and singing in the choir, among many other faithful duties! A great and beautiful soul has left this earth, but her legacy and love will remain in the hearts and souls of so many. Pallbearers are: Robert Winstead, Willis McKee, Josh Pilgrim, Andy Allen, Daniel Pilgrim and Mike Pilgrim.
