Shelia Mattar

Funeral services for Shelia Mattar will be held Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 12 noon from Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church in Kemper County. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Stokes will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mattar, 59, of Philadelphia died December 29, 2024.

Shelia was born and raised in Kemper County to Billy Wayne and Diane Howell. She attended West Lauderdale Schools and was employed by Kemper County as purchase clerk and road and bridge secretary for 20 plus years. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, riding motorcycles (until her illness prevented it) and going to the drag races. She will be missed by all. Mrs. Mattar was a member of Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Miller; daughter, Fallon Goings (Stevie); son, Dean Mattar (Bailey); grandchildren, Allison Alford, Madison, Marley, Shelby and Eli Goings, Jenley, Kaeson and Kyeryn Mattar.

Mrs. Mattar was preceded in death by parents, Billy Wayne and Diane Howell; grandson, Kamryn Mattar.

Pallbearers, Robert Kirkland, Claude Embry, Jim Jones, Henry Ishie, Eli Goings and Kyle Roe.

Honorary pallbearer, Ricky Ishie.
