Sharon Gilmore Amis

Private graveside services for Sharon Gilmore Amis will be held Friday, June 12, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. from Sulphur Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Scott County with Bro. Randall Creel officiating. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Amis, 75, of Lena, died Tuesday, June 9, 2020. A longtime resident of Sebastopol, MS, she graduated from Sebastopol High School and received an associate degree from East Central Junior College. Mrs. Amis was a longtime member of High Hill Baptist Church where she was an active member of the choir. She loved to read and her horses. She owned several businesses in the Sebastopol area. She was married to Jimmy Amis for 47 years. Survivors include daughters, Melanie Pope (Chris) and April Lacy (Dan); son, Lance Amis (Lynda); grandchildren, James Amis, Clay Amis, Colton Pope, Erika Pope, Amis Pope, Grady Higgins and Brody Lacy. Mrs. Amis was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Amis; and granddaughter, Madison Claire Pope. Pallbearers are Chris Pope, Dan Lacy, Amis Pope, Grady Higgins, Brody Lacy, and Rodney Andrews.
