Services for Mrs. Sammie C. Sharp will be held Monday, August 2, 2021, at 11:00 a. m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Dr. Dan Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, August 1, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Mrs. Sharp, 95, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, July 27, 2021. She was a native and longtime resident of Neshoba County, and a retired school teacher. She taught in city, county, and tribal schools. Mrs. Sharp was a member of First Baptist Church where she was active with B. A. L. L. She formerly attended North Bend United Methodist Church. She was an artist who loved painting and a former active member of the Philadelphia Neshoba County Arts Council. Survivors include daughter, Donna (Herman) Alford of Philadelphia; grandchildren, John Critz, Jessie Foster, Charleigh Vickers, Andrew Alford, Madison Alford; great-grandchildren, Maddilyn Foster, Jack Critz, Ridge Vickers; several nieces, nephews, and their families. Mrs. Sharp was preceded in death by husbands, Floyd “Madison” Fulton, Olen May, and Rev. Kermit Sharp; daughter, Debbie Critz; siblings, Charles Arlin Carter and Juanita Fulton.
