Ruth Selph Mcgregor

A graveside service for Ruth Selph McGregor will be held on Saturday, January, 23, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. from the Poplarville City Cemetery with Dr. Dan Howard officiating. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Ruth Selph McGregor, 94, was born in Poplarville, MS, on April 17, 1926, and went to be with her Jesus on January 19, 2021. She was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA, and began her career in New Orleans, LA. While there Ruth worked for The National Bank of Commerce and Meadows Draughon Business College. After moving to Baton Rouge she worked for Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Company in Gramercy, LA; the Louisiana Board of Tax Appeals; Personal Office of Governor Jimmie Davis; and also served as a graduate assistant for the local Dale Carnegie School. She served as the Publicity Director for the Baton Rouge Multiple Sclerosis Society, handling all publicity, organizing social and fund-raising campaigns, as well as personally visiting the MS patients to provide needed services. Ruth was also a real estate broker. Survivors include her cousin, Dr. Dan Howard (Marsha) of Philadelphia; a nephew; and other cousins. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Donald H. McGregor; son, Robert T. McGregor; father, Robert A. Selph; mother, Daisy W. Selph; and sister, Dorthy S. Kralemann. The family would like to express special appreciation to the staff at Atwood Personal Care Home and Quality Hospice Care.
