R. C. Mitchell

Services for R. C. Mitchell will be held Monday, September 2, 2019, at Clarks Chapel United Methodist Church in Kemper County at 11:00 a. m. with Rev. David Keller and Bro. Justin Stovall officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 10 a. m. until time of service at the church.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Mitchell, 88, of DeKalb, died Friday, August 30, 2019, at Stennis Health Center in DeKalb. He was a native and current resident of Cleveland Community in Kemper County and former resident of Center Hill Community in Lauderdale County.  He retired from Dement Printing where he worked as a press operator.  Mr. Mitchell was a member of Clarks Chapel United Methodist Church. Survivors include wife, Mrs. Lillian Mitchell of DeKalb; daughters, Deborah Blackburn (Pete) of Moscow, Marsha Stovall (Jimmy) of Cleveland, Beverly Ishie (Rickey) of Liberty; four grandchildren, Kim Lowe, Justin Stovall, Ryan Ishie and Brooke Cook; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Hallaine May of Moscow; brother, Waldo Mitchell of Cleveland; numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.  Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by grandchild, Mindy Stovall; sister, Jenalle Mitchell; and brother, Willie Jim Mitchell. Pallbearers are Justin Stovall, Ryan Ishie, Hunter Luke, Hayden Knight, Bruce Mitchell and Greg Mitchell.
