Funeral services for Ruby Breazeale Smith will be held Monday, April 11, 2022 at 3 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Brian Weir and Rev. Mack Alford officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, April 11, 2022 from 12 noon until service time at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Mrs. Smith, 83, of Philadelphia, died Saturday, April 09, 2022. Mrs. Ruby was born in Canton, MS and was raised in Neshoba County. She attended Philadelphia Schools and graduated from Arlington High School. She loved singing gospel music and spending time with her family. She worked in the banking industry for 40 plus years and retired from Regions Bank, she served as Neshoba County Election Commissioner District 1 and volunteered at Neshoba General Hospital gift shop for a number of years. Mrs. Smith was a long time member of Arlington Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Joe Smith of Lady Lake, Florida; daughters, Shelley Ellard (Pendy) and Melanie Barnett (Johnny); son, Scott Breazeale (Suzanne) all of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Cassidy Byars (Jill) of Philadelphia, Landon Byars (Becca) of Madison, Jud Byars (Corey), Lacie Flake (Justin), William and Joseph Breazeale all of Philadelphia; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Kay Smith of Philadelphia and Kathie Hardy of Canton; brother, John Harris of Canton; several nieces, nephews and their families. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by husband, Rayburn Breazeale; son-in-law Tim Stephens; sister, Charlene Willis. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Quality Hospice or Neshoba General Hospital Auxiliary. Pallbearers are Johnny Barnett, Justin Flake, Pendy Ellard, Cassidy , Landon and Jud Byars, William and Joseph Breazeale.
