Funeral services for Robert L. “Bubba” George will be held Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Randy Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in Tucker Cemetery. Visitation will be held at McClain-Hays Funeral Home one hour prior to service. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Robert L. “Bubba” George, 89, died at The Windsor Place in Columbus, MS, on December 10, 2021. Robert was born on May 10, 1932, to the late Mattie Gibson George and Robert Lee George, and was a longtime resident of Kemper County. He graduated from Cleveland High School and served in the United States Army in Germany. During his lifetime he was employed by the City of Jackson, MS; U. S. Motors of Philadelphia, MS; and MDOT, where he retired with 23 years of service. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Coweela Harbour George; daughter, Diann (Mike) Carter; son, Robert Michael George; grandchildren, Jesse Carter, Christopher Carter, Katelynn George, and Price George; great-grandchildren, Caleigh Carter, Abbey Carter, Hannah Carter, and Reid Neyman; many nieces, nephews and their families. Pallbearers are Jim Hedges, Sam Porter, Mike Savell, Patrick Savell, Andrew Savell, and Neill Wood.
