Robert E. Alford

Funeral services for Robert E. Alford will be held Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 2 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Bro. Adrian Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Sandtown Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, March 22, 2021 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. McClain-Hays is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Alford , 73, of Philadelphia, died Saturday, March 20, 2021 at his home. He was born and raised in the Sandtown Community of Neshoba County and attended Bond School. He was a long time construction/mechanic with Yates Construction and Neshoba Central School System and worked 20 years in the poultry industry. He loved to work but in his spare time he loved to hunt and fish and dearly loved his grandchildren. Mr. Alford was a member of Sandtown Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Tammy Alford; children, Patricia Alford Russell (James Jr.), James W. Alford (Becky), Patrick D. Alford (Amy), Wade Rushing (Missy) and Robert E. Alford II(Brittany); 26 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Clara Sullivan, Threase Martin, Edna Simpson and Patsy Brown; brother, Dale Alford; numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. Mr. Alford was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lavurn Alford; granddaughter, Paislee Alford; sister, Chelsea Alford; brothers, Franklin, Charles and Little Wayne Alford. Pallbearers are Dusty Russell, Richard Russell, Jonathan Alford, Jay Alford, Coby Lane Prewitt, and Patrick Boswell. Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Sullivan, Wesley Sullivan, and David Lee Alford.
