Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2025 from First Pentecostal Church in Philadelphia, MS. Rev. Tim Vowell will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at the church. Interment will be Lac Du Flambeau Memorial Cemetery in Lac Du Flambeau, WI.

Robert "Bob" Martin, a beloved husband, father, and friend, peacefully passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born and raised in Chicago, IL, Bob spent most of his life in Lac Du Flambeau, WI, and had been a resident of Philadelphia, MS, for the past 24 years.

Bob was an industrious man, working as an industrial painter and being an active member of the St. Louis Painters Union. At the time of his passing, he was working at the Pearl River Resort. He was also a faithful member of the First Pentecostal Church, where he could often be found sitting in the front pew.

Known for his love of grilling and smoking meat—especially ribs—Bob enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, spear fishing, and playing golf. He was an enthusiastic gamer on his phone and valued family gatherings, particularly enjoying the delicious food in Chicago. His devotion to his family was evident in every interaction, and he will be deeply missed.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Sheila Martin of Philadelphia, MS, and their children: daughters Roberta Martin of Racine, WI, Hannah (Tylar) Martin of Massena, NY; sons Clyde Martin of Lac Du Flambeau, WI, Scott (Susie) Martin of Verona, NY, and Robert Lyle Martin, Jr. of Philadelphia, MS. He was a proud grandfather to 9 grandchildren and had 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Helen (Curt) Bruckner, brothers Carl (Sue) Martin and Jack (Carol) Martin, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Rosette Martin, brother Michael Martin, and nephew Jack Martin, Jr.

Pallbearers honored to carry him to rest include Wendell Evans, Kory Culpepper, Keith King, Mitchell Bateman, Greg McKee, Cyrus Ben, and Paul Edwards. Honorary pallbearers are Eddie Kirkland and Randal Williamson.

Bob's family invites all who knew him to celebrate his life and legacy. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family.

Family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials can be made to First Pentecostal Church Global Missions Fund.
