Rex Lewis

A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. from Cedarlawn Cemetery with Bro. Gary Rivers officiating. Mr. Lewis, 66, of Meridian, died Thursday, March 2, 2023, at his home after a long illness. Rex was born and raised in Neshoba County, MS, and attended Philadelphia High School. He graduated from East Central Junior College with a degree in drafting. He built homes in Philadelphia and Jackson; and moved back to Meridian to work with Signs Plus until he was no longer able to work. Rex loved to feed the birds, Facebook, take pictures, fish; and spending time with his special friend Dawn. He dearly loved all his family. Mr. Lewis was Baptist by faith. Survivors include mother, Bonnie Holley Lewis of Meridian; daughter, Casey Ward (Leo) of Durant, MS; stepson, Todd Pearson of Durant, MS; sister, Robbie Lewis Fornea (Richard) of Pensacola, FL; brothers, Randy Lewis (Toni) and Russ Lewis, both of Meridian, MS; grandchildren, Dyna, Mackenzie, John and James Ward, and Hannah Pearson; nieces and nephews, Nikki Carr (Shane), Bryce Lewis (Katie), Lauren Wooten (Dylan), Allison, Landon and Larson Lewis; and best friend, Dawn Nester. Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his father, James C. Lewis; grandparents, HB and Evie Holley, and Cleveland and Wilma Lewis; several aunts and uncles.
