Raymond Chesney

Services for Raymond Chesney will be held Friday, January 26, 2018, at 11 a. m. from Pine Grove Baptist Church in the House Community with Rev. Rusty Walton and Rev. Lin Chesney officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held Thursday, January 25, 2018, from 5 until 8 p. m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home and 30 minutes prior to service at the church.   Mr. Chesney, 89, of Union, died Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian.  He was a native and longtime resident of Neshoba County.  He was a retired truck driver from Roadway.  Mr. Chesney served in the U. S. Navy. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in the House  Community. Survivors include his daughter, Sue (Bill) Wheatley of Union; son, Joe (Jackie) Chesney of Union; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Laree Dempsey of Enterprise, AL; brothers, Rev. Lin (Janice) Chesney of Union, Donald Chesney of Union, Larry (Nell) Chesney of Chunky, Randy (Miriam) Chesney of Meridian; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Chesney was preceded in death by his first wife Lonie Violet Tolbert Chesney, and second wife Nettie Adkins Chesney; brother, Mailon Chesney; and sister, Louise Whittington. Pallbearers are Sidney Wheatley, Matt Wheatley, Ryan Wheatley, Tyler Wheatley, Justin Whigham, Cody Whigham, Dratton Howell and Patrick Spence.
