Phyllus V. Robinson

Funeral services for Phyllus V. Robinson will be held Sunday, July 28, at 2:00 p.m. at McClain-Hays Chapel with Dr. Dan Howard officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held July 28, 2024, from Noon until time of service at McClain-Hays. Mrs. Robinson, 84, of Philadelphia passed away Friday, July 26, 2024, at her home. Mrs. Robinson was born in Winston County in the Vowell community, March 11, 1940. She graduated from Lobutcha School as Salutatorian. She attended East Central Junior College where she earned her Associates degree, and met the "Love of Her Life" Larry Robinson. Upon graduation, Mrs. Robinson was employed as a legal assistant with Daniel - Horton PA in Jackson, MS. Mrs. Robinson married Larry Robinson, January 13, 1961. They made Philadelphia their home in 1966 until her passing. During the years Mrs. Robinson served as a bookkeeper at Molpus Lumber Company, an insurance representative with Mitchell Agency, and then as the co-owner and manager of Robinson Sporting Goods. Mrs. Robinson retired to enjoy traveling, keeping her yard immaculate, and conversing on the telephone. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Women's Club. Preceded in death by her son, Russ Robinson, and her parents, Guyton and Lois Estelle Vowell. Mrs. Robinson is survived by her husband of 62 years, Larry Robinson, and her, children Robyn Gibson and Rob Robinson (Caroline). She adored her seven grandchildren: Heather Palmer (James); Chelsey McGaugh (Matt); Madison Tester (Ben); Logan Gibson (Logan White); Ian Robinson; Chandler Robinson; Addison Robinson (Matthew Odom) and her nine great grandchildren. The family appreciates the contributions of the caregivers: Alline Holmes, Evelyn McBeath, Paulette Buckley, and Peggy Trapp. Pallbearers are, Ian Robinson, Keith Robinson, Kenny Moore, Reggie Shumaker, Jim Sisson, and Tim Sisson. Honorary pallbearers are James Johnson, Don Shumaker, Walter Wilson, and Sid Williams.
