Memorial Service to be held at a later date. On March 29, 2024, Peter Michael Blackburn passed away at home, with his loving wife of 41 years, by his side. He had a fulfilling life, being in the military, and serving two tours in Vietnam before he was honorably discharged and continued his government employment with the FAA as an air traffic controller until 2000 then retiring to employment in the gaming industry where he successfully grew his career. Pete again retired to enjoy his friends, family, and community as well as his hobbies of fishing, gardening, and spending time with his wife. Pete leaves behind his wife, Deborah Blackburn of DeKalb; his daughter, Amy Blackburn with two beautiful grandchildren, Monica and Kenny; and his son, Thomas Blackburn; his sister Wendy Brundage, her husband, Jon Brundage, and their children. Matthew Brundage, his wife, Beth Brundage, and their two children. Katie Brantner, her husband, John Brantner, and their three children; brother John, his wife Deb, and their children, Sarah and her husband Tom Harris, and their 2 children as well as Ryan and his wife Liz, and daughter Julia; brother Jamie and his wife Peggy, and their children, Toby, Bill, wife Kate, and Amanda. Pete was preceded in death by his father, Asa O. “Pete” Blackburn, and his mother Regina; as well as a younger brother Thomas Blackburn.
