Paul Oakley "Top" Dove

Services for Paul Oakley “Top” Dove will be held Thursday, July 23, 2020 at 11 a.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Alex Biddles officiating. Burial will follow in Wheatfield Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 23, 2020 from 10 a.m. until service time at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Dove, 93, of Union, died Sunday, July 19, 2020. He was a native of Neshoba County and a graduate of Dixon High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and then moved back to Neshoba County for 2 years. He then moved to Jackson where he began his career with Presto for 32 years, then Vickers for 12 years until he retired and moved back to Neshoba County. Mr. Dove attended Dixon Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Carter (Bill) of Union and Carole Cantrell of Ridgeland; son, John Alan Dove (Rita) of Florence; six grandchildren, Holly Graves, Amanda Wells, John Paul Dove, Jennifer Coney, Rachel Cantrell and Kristen Cantrell; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; niece, Marilyn Goss; nephew, Freddie Belk; and a host of great nieces and nephews. Mr. Dove is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Dean Williamson Dove; sister, Kathleen Dove Belk. Pallbearers are Freddie Belk, John Paul Dove, Bill Carter, Mark Graves, Jason Morgan and Nathan Wells.
