Junior Savell

Funeral services for Junior Savell will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 11 a.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Curt Pace and Rev. Eric Sharp officiating. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, March 22, 2024 from 6-8 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Mr. Savell, 89, of Philadelphia died Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at his home. Junior was a native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County and served in the U.S. Air Force. He farmed all his life and enjoyed squirrel hunting with his dogs and playing his guitar with his band. He loved spending time with his family especially his granddaughters. Mr. Savell was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and was in the choir. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Iva Lou Savell of Philadelphia; son, Andy Savell (Cynthia) of Philadelphia; granddaughters, Ivie and Chole Savell; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Savell was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Willie Savell; sisters, Georgie Bell Chunn and Ollie B. Lacey; and brother, Otha R. Savell. Pallbearers, David Savell, Tony Savell, Dacky Savell, Raymond Savell, Jerry Griffin and Jeff Moore.
