Services for Nell (Nellie Jessie) Pilgrim Ryals will be held Friday, October 14, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Dr. Mike Carr and Dr. Wayne Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 13, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Nell Ryals, 79, died at her residence. Mrs. Ryals was a native of Neshoba County and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She worked for South Central Bell Telephone Company for 13 years. She moved back to Neshoba County after 22 years of service with Illinois Central Railroad in Homewood, IL. Survivors include nephews, Alan “Bo” Ward and Jethro Jayroe, nieces, Debra Drury, April Miller, Michelle Springfield, Jurene Jenkins and Kathy Ladd. Mrs. Ryals was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, David Alan Ryals, in 2015; parents, Jesse Leonard Pilgrim in 1989, and Vestrie Wells Pilgrim in 2001; sisters, Margie Jayroe in 2016 and Lena Mae Ellingburg in 2001; and niece Jessie Mae Ladd in 2011. Pallbearers are Jacob Drury, Josh Drury, Mark Drury, Jeff Miller, Shane Draughon, and Ben McDaniel.
