Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan, AR with Bro. Michael Walton officiating. Visitation will also be Thursday, from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 27th, 2023 at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of McClain-Hays Funeral Home.. Nelda Diann Mitchell of Sheridan, Arkansas, formerly of Philadelphia, Mississippi, was born July 6, 1949 near Cicily Island, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Thomas and Doris Schneider Mitchell. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Philadelphia, and was retired from Kohler in Sheridan. Diann was always busy doing something, even when she wasn’t working. She really enjoyed going to the casino and playing the slots, making arts and crafts projects, working puzzles and playing Candy Crush and other computer games, just to name a few of the things she liked to do. Her greatest joy however, was her family. Ms. Mitchell died Saturday, May 20, 2023 peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Wesley “Buster” Mitchell and sisters, Norma Jean Vines, Mary Lou Bryant, and Wanda Faye Ward. Survivors include her sons, David (Angela) Ivey of Sheridan and Jason Ledlow of Philadelphia, Mississippi; daughter, Kristal Marsh of Sheridan; brothers, Bobby Mitchell of Port Gibson, Mississippi, Raymond Mitchell of Cicily Island, Louisiana, Dean Mitchell of Grapevine; sister, Fern Beard of Ferriday, Lousiana; grandchildren, Lauren Ivey, Zachary Ivey, Matthew Ivey, Kayja Love, Alyssa Ledlow, Zachery Malone; great grandchildren, Brayden Ivey, Ema Ivey. She is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many friends
