Services for Mrs. Nadean Slaughter will be held, Saturday, May 28, 11:00 am from McClain-Hays Chapel. Burial will be held at Morrow Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, May 27, 5:00 – 7:00 pm at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Mrs. Nadean Slaughter, died Tuesday, May 17, 2022,at Merit Health Rankin in Brandon, MS at the age of 92. She was a native and lifetime resident of Philadelphia/Neshoba County. She was employed at Busby Gifts & Jewelry and was a longtime employee at Adkins Pharmacy and at Wal-Mart. She was a member of First Baptist Church Philadelphia. She enjoyed visiting on the porch, cooking for family and friends, and was an accomplished seamstress, creating many designs for her daughter and grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Jayne Robinson (Keith) of Biloxi; son, Charles “Butch” Slaughter (Janet) of Pearl; grandchildren: Josh Slaughter of Pearl, Julie Slaughter Henkel of Brandon, Meredith Zahorsky (Kyle) of Flower Mound, Texas, Kyle Robinson of Jones County, Kera Libardoni (Vince) of Biloxi. Great grandchildren: Jacob and James Henkel, Max, Molly, and Miles Zahorsky, Kasen Robinson, Kallie Libardoni, and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband James Lavon Slaughter of Philadelphia, her parents Lester Carlton and Gertie Gipson Milling of Dixon, siblings Myrtis Mitchell, Irvin Milling, Erna Milling, Eleanor Moore, Jack Milling, Dorothy Dean Milling (infant), and Doyle Milling, her aunt, L.V. Putnam who was as a sister, granddaughter Jamie Alicia Slaughter, grandson-in-law Paul Henkel, and great-granddaughter Madelyn Grace Zahorsky. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Brandon Court Assisted Living and Merit Rankin for the kind care. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Philadelphia or Camp Dixon in her memory.
