Monica Joy Edwards

Services for Monica Joy Edwards will be held Thursday, January 31, 2019, at 2 p.m. from Coye Assembly of God in Preston with Rev. Ryan Farmer and Rev. David Keller officiating.  Burial will follow in the Coye Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 30, 2019, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home, and one hour prior to service at the church.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Edwards, 64, of Preston, died Monday, January 28, 2019. She was a native and longtime resident of Kemper County.  She loved her family and friends.  She loved her church, but most of all, she loved God.  She lived her entire life to get to where she is now-Heaven.  She enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, cooking, and family gatherings.   Mrs. Edwards was a member of Coye Assembly of God Church in Kemper County. Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Danny M. Edwards of Preston; daughter, Lorie Michelle McCool (Brandon) of Preston; son, Danny W. “Dano” Edwards of Preston; five grandchildren, Reagan Sellers (Jason), Preston Anderson (Maggie), Terra Rigdon (Zac),  Chelsea Terrell (Hunter), and Garth Edwards; two great-grandchildren, Lucy M. Terrell and Laurelle R. Sellers; mother, Willow Dean Warren of Preston; sisters, Wanda Luke of Preston, Pam Stokes of Preston; brother, Gully Warren (Georgia) of Sturgis; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her father, J. C. Warren; and brother-in-law, Joe Charles Luke.
