Services for Molly Ruffin Turner will be held Thursday, October 18, 2018, at 4 p.m. from First United Methodist Church in Philadelphia with Rev. Chris Young and Bro. Chris Morgan officiating. Visitation will begin on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Mrs. Turner, 64, of Philadelphia, died Monday, October 15, 2018, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. She was a native and lifelong resident of Philadelphia, MS. She was a graduate of Philadelphia High School and the University of Mississippi. She taught at Philadelphia High School for 28 years and Choctaw Middle School for the past five years. Mrs. Turner was a member of First United Methodist Church in Philadelphia. She loved Ole Miss football games and tailgating in The Grove. Survivors include husband, Tom Turner of Philadelphia, MS; daughter, Mali Turner (Peter Schmitt) of Stonington, CT; four sons, Dustin Turner of Dallas, TX, Kip Turner (Haley), Joey Turner and Beck Turner, all of Philadelphia, MS; five grandchildren, Leonie Schmitt, Reid Thompson, Leyton Turner, Olivia Turner, and Willow Grace Turner; sisters, Janet Thrash (Larry), Martha Hancock (Mitchell), Alice Clark (Randy), Liz Graham (Charlie), all of Philadelphia, MS, and Lucy Morgan (Kevin) of Madison, MS; and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by parents, Billy and Juarene Ruffin; and two sisters, Stacy Oberschmidt and Lindsey Ruffin.
