Services for Modene Davis will be held Thursday, July 25, 2019, at 2 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Chris Gully officiating and Geraldine Higginbotham playing the piano. Burial will follow in Bluff Springs Cemetery in Kemper County. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 24, 2019, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Davis, 84, of the Bluff Springs Community, died Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at her home. She was a native of the Bloomfield Community and longtime resident of the Bluff Springs Community inKemper County. Mrs. Davis was a member of Bluff Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include daughter, Beverly (Rick) Heimann of Bailey; sons, Ray (Kim) Davis and Chad (Gwen) Davis, both of DeKalb; six grandchildren, Christopher Heimann, Ellen Heimann-Nichols, Thad (Laura) Davis, Adam Davis, Kyle (Kristi) Davis and Brittany Davis; great-grandchildren, Ava Nichols, Logan, Eli, Whitley, Garrett and Wyatt Davis; brothers, Jimmy (Doris) Peden of Moselle, Roy (Alice Marie) Peden of Preston, and Harold Peden of Bloomfield; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Henry E. Davis; sister, Sandra Branning; and brother, Herbert Ray Peden. Pallbearers are Christopher Heimann, Thad Davis, Kyle Davis, Logan Davis, Adam Davis and Eli Davis.
