BRIAN WEIRMitch was a native of Leake County; however, he lived in Neshoba County most of his adult life. He graduated from Edinburg High School in 1994. Following graduation he served in the US Army 10th Mountain Division as a combat specialist (11B) with multiple awards of recognition for 3 years. His unit, Alpha Company 4th Battalion 31st Light Infantry, was the most deployed unit of the 18th Airborne Corp during that time span. He was personally greeted and coined by the Secretary of Defense in 1995 as he deplaned after 50 consecutive days of night raids in the early war on terror. He was honorably discharged. He then served 9 years with the 367th Maintenance company here in Philadelphia. He was honorably discharged with a letter from the Commandant for outstanding service. Mitch worked in the deep water oil/gas industry for 20 years serving as OIM on Transocean’s Discoverer Spirit in the Gulf of Mexico and as ARM on Vantage Tungsten Explorer off the coast of Africa. Mitch is survived by his wife, Michelle Winstead Pike and children Ali Michelle, Hagen Mitchell and Madison Hailey all of Philadelphia; mother Jan Wilcher Walters (Cody) and father Rex Mitchell Pike both of Philadelphia; siblings Janis Rebecca Martin (David) of Union, Betty Janette Grice (Jonathan) of Lena, Kenneth Wade Robinson (Darla) of Lake; and Nieces and Nephews Houston, Anne & MariAnna Martin, Ethan, EmaLee & Ellie Grace Robinson, Nathan, Matthew & Joshua Grice, Graham, Clair, Tyler & Maggie Grace Winstead.
