Services for Minnie Lee Fanning Maxey will be held Friday, February 21, 2020, at 3:00 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Dwight Faulkenberry and Rev. Chester Carlisle officiating. Burial will follow in Bloomfield Cemetery in Neshoba County. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 20, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Maxey, 88, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at Neshoba County Nursing Home. She was a native and longtime resident of Neshoba County. She worked and retired from Wells-Lamont Glove Factory after 45 years of service. Mrs. Maxey was a member of Grace Baptist Church and a former member of East Philadelphia Baptist Church for several years. Survivors include daughters, Jackie Holley (Lonnie) of Philadelphia and Tammy Manning (Rayford, Jr.) of Noxapater; son-in-law, James Lackey; nine grandchildren, Eric Hill (Michelle), Heather Hiltz (Patrick), Kristen Blair (Scott), Erica Roebuck, Rayford Manning III (Olivia), Julie Coleman (Josh), Bruce Manning (Aubrey), Michelle Lovern (Jase), and Brent Manning (Alyse); 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Jane Burt of Pearl; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Maxey was preceded in death by husband, Jack Maxey; daughter, Judy Lackey; granddaughter, Elizabeth Manning; parents, Van Fanning and Bertice Mayo Creekmore; sisters, Johnnie McLemore and Anna “Tag” Brantley. Pallbearers are Josh Coleman, Jase Lovern, Scott Blair, Rayford Manning III, Bruce Manning, and Brent Manning.
