Mickey Lee Peebles

Services for Mickey Lee Peebles will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Chuck Overby officiating.  Burial will follow in Cedarlawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home.Mr. Peebles, 68, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian. A native of Neshoba County and longtime resident of Gulfport, MS, and Gonzales, LA, he returned to Neshoba County in September, 2016.  He was retired 30 years service from Stevedoring Services of America in Gulfport, MS.  He loved his family and family gatherings, and enjoyed collecting guns.  He also enjoyed working on and driving his ’63 Lil’ Nova .  He loved all sports.  Mr. Peebles was Baptist by faith. Survivors include his wife of 48 years and 8 months, Mary Ann Anderson Peebles; two brothers, Michael S. Peebles (Terry) and Frankie J. Peebles, both of Gonzales, LA; two sisters, Shirley Paulette Tolleson and Wilda Ree Myers, both of Philadelphia, MS; brother-in-law, Gary Philyaw and Michael Anderson; sisters-in-law, Carol Burns, Tammy Edwards and Wanda Smith; numerous nieces and nephews and their families.  Mr. Peebles was preceded in death by father, Paul Ed Peebles; mother, Deltha D. Peebles; and sister, Linda Annette Battle. Pallbearers are James Reuben Thompson, Will Myers, Joshua Tolleson, Justin Burns, Bo Philyaw and Hayden Burns. Honorary pallbearers are Marvin Anderson, Bobby Goss, Gary Cox, Homer Davis, Glen Ellingburg, Poto Babin, Tim Myers and Joshua Burns.
