Melinda "Susie" Skipper

Graveside services for Melinda “Susie” Skipper will be held Sunday, May 24, 2020, at 4:00 p.m. from Chamberlain Cemetery in Kemper County with Rev. Jessie Napp and Rev. Ben Skipper officiating. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Ms. Skipper, 65, of Preston, died Saturday, May 23, 2020, at her home. She was a native and longtime resident of Kemper County and worked as a legal secretary. Susie loved her grandchildren and church family. She also loved her cat, Sledge, and dog, Bailey. Ms. Skipper was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Kemper County. Survivors include sons, Allen Conner (April) of Philadelphia and Chris Russell (Samantha) of New Orleans; grandchildren, Isaiah Conner, Kinsley Conner, Brooklyn Russell, Ashton Russell, Ethan Russell and Noah Osley; great-grandchild, Addelyn; brothers, James Skipper (Sue) of Shuqualak, Michael Skipper of Louisville; and a host of nieces and nephews. Ms. Skipper was preceded in death by parents, Alfred and Helen Skipper; and brother, Wayne Skipper.
