Funeral services for Mattie Ruth Kelly will be held Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Linwood Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Skinner officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, March 25, 2022 from 5 until 8 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home and Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at Linwood Baptist Church. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Kelly, 81, of Union, MS, died Wednesday, March 23, 2022. Mattie was born in Neshoba County and lived here all her life. She worked at U.S. Motors, Wal-Mart and Midland Shirt Factory for a number of years. She loved to cook, garden and spend time with her family. Mrs. Kelly was a member of Linwood Baptist Church. Survivors include daughters, Gatha Skinner (Ottis) of Union and Beverly Bassett (Sal) of Union; son, Eugene Franklin (Carolyn) of Union; stepdaughter, Kimberly Kendall (Dustin) of Hattiesburg; step-sons, Robby Kelly of Union , Allen Kelly (Mary Ann) of Little Rock, MS and Chris Kelly of Philadelphia; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Louise Arnett of Jay, Florida and Alice Pitt of Gautier, MS; several nieces, nephews and their families. Mrs. Kelly was preceded in death by her husband, James Kelly; sons, Kenneth and Bobby Franklin; great-grandson, Abram Lane Wilkerson; brother, Lavelle Harkey; parents, Augustus Harkey and Gladys Burton Wilson. Pallbearers are, Lee Hardy, Robby Kelly, Mark Boatner, Danny Killen, Exo Moore, Dillon Cumberland, Wheeler Chandler and Decklan Killen.
