Martha Jo Coghlan Myers

A graveside service for Martha Jo Coghlan Myers will be held on December 27, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. from the Cedarlawn Cemetery in Philadelphia, MS, with Bro. Michael Wells officiating. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. On September 16, 1935, Martha was the youngest of three sisters, born to Joe & Mattie Coghlan in Edinburg MS. Growing up on River Road, she was surrounded by family that taught her great skills in cooking, sewing, gardening, the appreciation of nature, and the care for animals. Martha graduated Edinburg Public Schools & East Central Community College. Her first job was with The Citizens Bank in 1954. After her marriage to John Myers, they moved and lived in Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. Martha relocated to Philadelphia MS in 1991, where she worked in the Silver Star Gift shop until retiring. Martha is survived by children Matthew & Molly Myers, and niece Susan Mundy Burt. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sisters, Pearl Breazeale and Ruth Mundy.
