Services for Marge “Margie” Mae Barnett will be held Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 10 a.m. at McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Jackie Strebeck officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 9 a.m. until service time. Mrs. Barnett, 85, passed away on September 25, 2019, in the Neshoba County Hospital. She was a native of Newton County, MS, but had been a resident of Philadelphia-Neshoba County for the past 27+ years. She faithfully served with her husband who pastored several churches in Louisiana, Arizona and Mississippi where she taught Sunday School and Training Union at various churches and was a supportive wife while her husband served in the Air Force. She was a retired District Accountant for United Jewelers, Inc. Mrs. Barnett was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Vanessa K. Walker of Collinsville; granddaughter, Lauren K. Walker; and a host of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Charles A. Barnett; parents , Thomas L. Tatum and Annie Mae Crocker Tatum; siblings, Billy Mack Tatum, Larry Joe Tatum, Jerry Thomas Tatum, Geneva Kay Tatum and Tommie Faye Tatum; son-in-law, Thomas (Ken) Walker. A note of appreciation to the Nurses, CNA’s, Recreation Staff and many employees of the Neshoba County Nursing Home for the exceptional love and care she received as a resident.
