Private family graveside services for Mrs. Marceline Luke will be held Friday, May 22, 2020 at 10 a.m. from Coy Cemetery with Rev. Mike Sims officiating. McClain-Hays is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Luke, 92, of Preston, Ms, died Wednesday, May 20,2020. She was a native and longtime resident of Coy Community of Kemper County . She had formerly worked at First United Methodist Children’s Daycare in Philadelphia, was a homemaker and cattle farmer. Mrs. Luke was a member of Coy Methodist Church and had served as ladies event coordinator, taught Sunday School and active in the Seniors Breakfast Group. She is survived by her children, Anne (Hunter) Adams, Mike (Sondra) Luke and Tony (Paula) Luke; grandchildren, Jason (Candy) Adams, Scott (Kristel) Adams, Emily Lee, Amy Ivy, Hannah (Ben) Hardy and Jacob (Kelsey) Luke; great-grandchildren, Noel (Brad) Denham, Breeanna Adams (Justin Graves), Grace Douzat, Blake Douzat, Braxton Lee, Austin Adams, Kellis Adams, Craig Adams, Kady Lee, Jacob Lee, Payton Ivy, Lexie Hardy, Layken Ivy and Judah Luke; great-great-grandchildren, John Corey Denham and Adalyn Graves. Mrs. Luke is preceded in death by her husband, Vanzee Luke; son, Clifton (C.A.) Luke; daughter-in-law, Jan Luke; parents, Daniel and Willie Luke; brothers, Herchell, Prentiss, Felton and Ronald Luke; sisters, Thelma Copeland, Wilma Miles and Polly Cumberland. Pallbearers, Jason Adams, Scott Adams, Jacob Luke, Ben Hardy, Braxton Lee, Austin Adams, Craig Adams and Jacob Lee. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Palmer Home for Children or a favorite charity.
