Private family services will be held for Malcolm E. Gray at McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Ron Leonard officiating. A graveside service will be held Monday, June 29, 2020, at 12:30 p.m. from the Mississippi VA Memorial Cemetery in Newton, MS. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Gray, 76, of Kemper County, died Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Kemper County and lived in Philadelphia during the early part of his life. He was a resident of Meridian for the past 50 years and worked as a residential and commercial painter for many years. Mr. Gray retired from the Army National Guard Unit 367 of Philadelphia after 23 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. Survivors include his loving ex-wife, Judy Gray of Meridian; daughters, Michale Spears (Marty) of Little Rock and Melissa Lott (Dee) of Meridian; son, Michael Gray (Angie) of Meridian; grandchildren, Bailey Carney, Brandon Gray, Maeghan Gray, Kasey Neal, Tyler Lott, Shelby Gray and Alex Gray; sisters, Sarah Burrus of Hattiesburg and Betty Edwards (Ben) of Philadelphia; brother, Wayne Gray (Lahoma) of Collinsville; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Gray was preceded in death by parents, Ervin and Sadie Gray; son, Eric Gray; grandson, Jarrod Gray.
