Mable Smith Oaks

Services  will be held Friday, March 14, 2025 at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Chapel. Bro. Justin Pfeifer will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 5 until 8 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Interment will be held in Bloomfield Cemetery.

Mable Irene Phillips Griffis Smith Oaks, 89, of Philadelphia MS died March 9, 2025.

Mae was born in Neshoba County, Mississippi to Josephine Spears and Walter Eugene Phillips. She graduated in 1953 from House High School in Neshoba County. She worked for many years in the hospitality industry and loved her garden.

Survivors include her husband, Ferron R Oaks; son, E J Griffis Jr; granddaughter, Anne M Griffis (Nicholas) of San Antonio, Texas and Boots, her beloved dog.

Mae is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lena Flemming, Earline Ward, Millie Hughes, Bonnie Jean Moore; brothers, Richard Phillips and Jerry Phillips; along with her beloved dogs including JR and Zoey.

In lieu of flowers family requests all memorials be made to your local Animal Shelter in her honor.
